Priceless Moments

Here are just a few of the moments I treasure with Lillie.......Warning: This is a mushy post. :)
  • During random dance parties with Aunt Margaret Lillie will attempt a head bang.
  • The words I hear every morning when Lillie wakes up, "mom, mom, mom, mom, mom, mom". And those words don't stop until the next night when she is finally asleep again.
  • Watching "Blue's Clues" with Lillie and watching her follow Steve's actions with her hands.
  • The kisses she gives me....puckered lips and all.
  • Right when she wakes up from a nap or from sleeping at night. She is super cuddly and usually just wants to hold someone.
  • Her laugh is adorable! It's very toothy and pretty dramatic.
  • Rocking her to sleep each night.
  • Bath time.
  • Watching the pure joy spread across her face when she realizes her daddy just pulled up coming home from work. She waves her hand and usually screams to get his attention.
  • When we are at the store with my family and she notices one of her aunties or grandma or grandpa in the distance she yells at the top of her lungs so that they will see her. She also yells at a few kids from our ward during sacrament meeting when she spots them. (We are working on that one. :)
  • Her latest faces....eyebrows raised, eyes wide open, and lips puckered, and head tilted slightly to the sky.
  • Learning new words.
  • Watching her learn and figure things out on her own.
  • She is also very obedient and I love it when she listens to me because I know she loves me.
  • Seeing her reaction whenever we pass something "Dora the Explorer" related at the grocery store.
  • Singing "I love you" the "Barney" song with her and her daddy. She hugs us and gives us a kiss at the appropriate times!
  • Prayer time....she folds her arms and tries to say "amen" at the end.
  • During the sacrament she has to look for the "boys" (the deacons and teachers who are passing the sacrament). She loves getting the bread and water!
I love my little Lillie!

Happy Birthday, Jake!

Happy Birthday to this guy.....

He is so handsome! :) Yesterday, June 5, was Jake's birthday! He turned 27 years old. For some reason that sounds really, really old to me. haha!

It was a quiet day and Jake was able to take the day off from work. For his birthday he got a spray paint gun, a sander and bunch of little props to go along with his air compressor. Yeah, he's a guy. :) He also got some Tostito chips and Pepsi from Caroline and a sweet card from Margaret. Thanks Mom and Dad for the Home Depot gift card....Jake had way too much fun spending it! He got even more money from his mom and dad. He sure did rake it in!

We love you Jake and are so grateful you were born 27 years ago so that you could be the dad of our family! You are the best dad and husband in the whole world and I am so incredibly lucky to have you as my eternal companion!

Wow! What a Month!

This month has been super busy for the Roundy family! And I have loved every second of it!

On May 9 Jake and I celebrated our 4 year anniversary. I can't believe it has been four years already! It seems like an eternity and a few seconds at the same time! Jake stayed home from work that day which ended up being the best part of the day! Lillie woke up sick and the doctor told us that she had a really bad ear infection and a very red sore throat. Yay! So we went to Smith's for the antibiotic and then picked up some Cafe Rio for lunch. Happy 4 Years! :) (P.S. Lillie is doing much better now)

May 12 - we celebrated Lillie's 1st birthday! We had a little birthday party here at home and had so much fun! Thanks to those of you who came to support little Lillie! It was a happy day full of quick trips to Costco, haha! Lillie loved opening her presents and was completely overwhelmed with the attention. However, she quickly got used to it. :)

May 13 - This is Lillie's actual birthday and it also happened to be Mother's Day! It was a very special day! We opened mother's day gifts in the morning and then ran around trying to get ready for church the rest of the day. Jake and Lillie gave me some Diet Coke and some exercising bands (both of which I had been hinting at for weeks). It was also fun because we got to spend the day with my mom (we still live in the basement). I hope you had a good mother's day, mom! We love you!

This day was also special because Elder Raines was able to skype with us for just over an hour! Oh, how proud I am of my brother! He is doing such a great job in Colombia and I can't believe he has been gone for one whole year! This next year better go by quickly!!!!

May 15 - Happy Birthday Jessica Roundy!!!!!!!!!!

May 17 - Happy Birthday Dad Roundy!!!!!!!!!!

May 19 - We had Lillie's 1 year old pictures taken. We even got a few family pictures snuck in. My Lillie is so beautiful!!! Pictures to come soon...........

Things On My Mind......

  • I'm tired and my toes are cold.
  • Lillie is playing with my shoes, my dirty ones.
  • Oh my gosh what is in Lillie's mouth!
  • Lillie loves TV. Anything colorful and loud and musical. Should I be worried that she watches so much TV in a day? meh.
  • Jake is still at work and I wish he was home. I also wish that he did not have to work tomorrow.
  • Losing weight is NO fun. I only have eight points left for the day. Yippee.
  • Lillie is adorable. She is dancing to Dora the Explorer right now.
  • I need to clean up.................
  • I need to put away laundry. I am ashamed at how lazy I am when it comes to laundry.
  • I can smell food cooking.
  • Money is dumb.
  • I finished my project that I was working on (a Family Home Evening bucket). OK. I am not "done". It will be an ongoing project the rest of my life.
  • I need a new project. (Frame painted red for my calendar?)
  • If I swallow gum does that count as having eaten food for the day? Do I need to track that?????
  • I LOVE being a mom. It really is what I was meant to do.
  • Lillie turns one year old in a week (AAAAGGGHHHHH!!!!)
  • I can't wait for our trip to the cabin.
  • Food.
  • SO grateful for my family, all of them!
  • I am grateful it is 4:00 pm and the day is starting to wind down.
  • I wish Lillie would have taken two naps today.
  • I have a to do list with about a bajillion things on it yet to be done and instead I am writing on this blog. :)
  • I can do hard things.
  • Hope everyone is having a great day!!!

New Car!!!

We bought a new car!!! We have had our little Sentra for four years now and we have done pretty well living with one car. However, now that we have Lillie and since we have my harp, we decided it was time to buy an SUV for our family. So we decided on buying a Nissan Murano. Here is a fancy picture of what it looks like:

We are so excited about it! My mom and I, along with Lillie, have already run a few errands today so that we could drive around in it. Wow, I'll tell you what. Cars sure cost a lot of money. Not only do you have to pay for the car itself but the tax, license and registration, fees, insurance every month and fuel! It adds up so quickly!!! Why is everything so complicated? I sure with tihngs could just be simple but I guess growing up becomes more complicated as time goes on. Just somethig to get used to, I guess.

Overall, we are so excited about our new car and feel so blessed to have it!

What happened to the time?

I am beginning to realize that time will not wait for me any longer. Lillie is going to turn one year old next month and I am kind of freaking out. She has grown up so fast and it is hard for me to remember what it was like when she couldn't move around or eat solid foods.

Lillie is doing really, really well. She walks now! And she prefers to walk. Man, I feel like I should weigh around 50 pounds just from the exercise I get chasing her around the house. She is super curious and loves to learn new things. The other day at the post office Lillie just stared at the lady stamping the package. She watched her hand move up and down and followed the lady's every move. She just wants to know what is going on all the time! She loves food! She will eat anything, literally! Including sand and other gross things. :) She loves olives, pizza, crackers, ice cream, diet coke (Yeah, I should win the parent of the year award), and anything cold from the freezer. She has six teeth now, four on top and two on bottom and she has the most crooked smile ever! It is so stinkin' cute! She also has an underbite which has me slightly worried that it will look like that forever...however, for now it is adorable! She loves to watch TV and especially likes Dora the Explorer, Micky Mouse Clubhouse, Barney, and Super Why. It is a great break for me!

We are still living in my parent's basement (thanks mom and dad!). We love Lehi and the ward here. Jake teaches Sunday School and I was recently put in with the Laurel's group in young women's. I have loved that because Caroline is a Laurel and I have been able to go to the activities with her.

For the past few weeks I have been feeling really motivated to do things and get things done. I have started a few projects and been really good about keeping up laundry, going on walks, etc. Because of this newly found energy (I have no idea where it came from) I have made a new goal to update this blog more often. I love reading friends' and family's blogs (You are all so clever and witty) and have decided I want to be that way too. :) So for today it was required that I do the mandatory update blog post but the next posts will be better and more entertaining. NOthing huge ever happens to our little family (I guess that is something to be grateful for) so my posts will most likely be little stories, little thoughts, and little pictures of our day-to-day life.
